Anza Borrego Nov 11-12

Hi! We’re planning on an exploring day in the northern part of Anza Borrego State Park. Intended highlights will be “The Slot” - slot canyon area off HWY 78, dirt road exploration, ad-hoc stops at interest points, the art around Borrego Springs, Font’s Point, and camping.

Recommend comfortable clothing with a jacket for the night. Bring a camera! Bring shoes for walking / hiking. Jay is limited in mobility, but still plans to partake in easier views.

Weather :

Veterans Day Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.

Friday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Saturday Sunny, with a high near 69.

Camp:

Shown on the image below, my intention is to camp in Sheep Canyon (1) - depending on post-rain road conditions we may not end up here. Second will be either in the north of Butler Canyon (2) or if that road is awash, then near Font’s Point (3). If all else fails, we’ll end up in Culp Valley (4).

We have an everything when it comes to camping, Jay has amassed enough gear over the years to outfit a small expedition.
